Thanks for coming to Lez & the City dot com and requesting advice! Alright, let’s get to it, shall we?

Dilemma:
So my gf says she’s tired of going without the things she wants and needs at times. I’ve been working my ass off to support her while she no longer has job and only one out of three of her apartments are rented (this puts a real strain on me because I’ve had to take on the cost of maintaining the property, like utilities and repairs, and I’ve done all the upkeep and advertising and such). As a result of my efforts people have been coming to view the apartments and hopefully they get rented soon. However, last night she told me she’s tired of doing without, and she knows its not my fault and I’ve been trying my ass off to pick up her slack, but she needs to be free of me to go and find some kind of sugar daddy who is going to be able to pay for everything and help her expand on her rental properties like she wants to. So she is saying the relationship won’t work because I can’t afford to give her the things she wants or needs at times, but the only reason for that is that she’s been sitting on her ass saying she’s depressed and I’ve had to use all of MY money to try and keep her apartments going and make sure the light and water and utilities don’t cut off on us. Is she for real?!!!

Wow!! *sending you an air hug for all the drama you seem to be going through*
It seems like she is more focused on money than the relationship… I do commend you for taking on all that responsibility but it doesn’t seem like she appreciates it at all. Has she always been a working woman or is she used to someone supporting her financially? As far as the money goes, you need to be clear that you aren’t interested in being her Sugar Daddy… and if that’s what she’s looking for she can look elsewhere.
Perhaps you should ask her if she would be able to “do without” you in her life or as her girlfriend. If her response has anything to do with money, then she’s already answered your question. There are plenty of lesbians in the sea who don’t have closing costs :)
